The dog days of summer have arrived and everyone is trying to squeeze all the activity out of the short Montana Summer. For many that includes fishing the Madison River.

Hoot owl restrictions on the Upper Madison River. Fishing closed from 2pm till midnight from Ennis Lake to 8 Mile.
The Madison River is getting warm. Fishing is still good if you fish in the morning or evenings. Get up early and off the river before it gets hot.
The end of July and the Madison River continues to produce every day. Dry , nymph or streamer pick what you want to fish and you will be rewarded.
We have seen it all in the last month. High water, salmon flies, goldens, heat, high winds and now heat. The Madison River continues to produce every day. We are now in the mid summer pattern.
