Fishing Report for the Madison River in Montana 4-28-2017

The past few days the river has been dropping and slightly improving on clarity. The fish have enjoyed their slight break from the runoff bump and have started to feed again. With the warmer temperatures in the forecast we will be expecting another bump in the near future. Anglers brave enough to fish the muddy water have enjoyed scattered suggest through out the upper river. The best clarity is still above the west fork and is still your best bet for fishing. Steamers and pats rubbers legs fished tight to the banks and in slow eddies have produced the best. Although fishing can be tough the upper Madison offers a chance to get away from the crowds and still have a chance to catch some fish.
