This recent bout of cooler weather, rain in the valley and even snow on the mountain has only helped the Madison River and Fishing. A drop of a few degrees in water temp really energizes the fish and puts them back on the feed. As for bugs goldens still around, yellow sallie, tons of caddis in all shapes and sizes as well as may flies around mid morning to mid day. If you are looking for dry fly fishing it is still game on here on the Madison River.
Nymph guys are still dredging up a storm and catching everything in sight. Goldens, princies, and P Tails are the name of the game for instant bobber down success. The fur and feather, chuck and duck streamer lovers are even getting some action as of late. Every time they bump the river it dislodges all the minnows and sculpins so for a few days the streamer fishing is a good thing. Who dosn’t like to catch big fish.
Looks like the upcoming week is much of the same weather wise and hopefully we will not see a heat up into the mid 90 like we had earlier. Nymph early may flies around 11 and caddis all afternoon and evening. A great time to get out on the water.
Get out and float a few flies and catch more than just fish.
