Summer is almost over and fall is almost upon us. The Madison River is still holding strong with flows and temps and the fishing this summer has been great.

If you’r going to be in Ennis this Friday stop down to the Fly Fishing Festival for a great time. Also check out our yearly Anniversary Sale. The perfect time to get Christmas knocked out for the fisherman on your list and save some money.

Fall fishing is on the way and it is looking like it will be a good one. Good flows and hungry fish with some cooler weather. Streamer season is right around the corner and we are all looking forward to it.

Fish Belize this Winter!

Summer is almost over and soon we will be layering up for cold weather. If the thought of winter makes you sad book a trip to Belize with us and it will brighten your entire winter. We will be hosting trips again this winter to the fabulous El Pescador lodge in San Pedro, Belize. Planning a winter trip with lots of fun in the sun is the sure fire way to beat winter. If you think flip flops are better than snow boots in February give us a call.

Trip Report El Pescador

Ennis Fly Fishing Festival 2017

The Festival weekend is right around the corner and here is the line up.

The 2017 Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival will be held this year September 1 in Peter T’s park in front of First Madison Valley Bank from noon till 7 pm.

Over 20 fishing related vendors will be on hand as well as kids activities and fly casting. Lots of great raffle items. All proceeds go to the Chamber of Commerce.

Dinner will be served starting at 5.

The Costa Slam movie Festival will follow at the Madison Theatre hosted by Fly Fishing celebrity Hilary Hutchenson.

All the raffles will be drawn after the movie.

The entire event is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by The Tackle Shop and Remax.

Fall Streamer Madness

If your hunting for the largest fish in the river now is the time to start that hunt. Each fall browns leave the sanctuary of the lake and travel up the river in order to spawn. Once in the river they become aggressive and will take a streamer more out of anger than hunger. Want to try your hand at Fall Streamer Madness?

It almost feels like yesterday that we were bracing for our summer season and now we are in the twilight of it. It goes by fast when you are surrounded by great fishing, beautiful country and the world’s greatest people. The smell of fall is in the air and all that it brings. The elk making music on the mountain, fall colors, and great streamer fishing await.

We love what we do and appreciate the opportunity to be surrounded by so many great customers.
