Madison River Fishing Report 3-7-18

The cold weather has started to break here in Ennis. The Madison river is flowing free though there was a little slush this morning by town. Most FAS remain open and accessible. Fish are holding in there late winter haunts look for the slower deeper water. Nymphing will be the most productive but streamers and midge patterns will work also. Yesterdays high water temp was 40 degrees and with the next few days of higher temperatures and sun I am sure it will get warmer. These next few days might be our first peek of spring and a great time to get out and fish. DON'T forget you need a new 2018 license if you venture out.
