Blue and strawberry lit rivers flowing towards epic Birthday’s

Ennis the town I now call home is officially in summer mode.  Drift boats and RVs pass the store front as people are out with a common goal in mind, to enjoy this beautiful time of year.  As a child summer meant fishing vacations with my Grandparents labeled as my Grandfather’s little fishing buddy while visiting his favorite lakes.  Each day I see something that reminds me of those times and enjoy visiting with people up for their annual summer excursion with the new generation in tow.  What signifies summer may be different from person to person but for most the longest day of the year, Summer Vacations and the 4th of July should qualify.  The Summer Solstice was a rare one this year carrying with it lunar titles of both a Strawberry and Blue Full Moon which is a lot of light to be shining on the river for opportunistic trout coinciding with the start of a Salmonfly hatch.  Each day flowing out of the Strawberry Blue Moon has been fishing better than the last.  I can tell this by the excitement on peoples faces and the stories they tell as they come through the store.  The weather has put a damper on the evenings the last couple of nights but the numbers and varieties of bugs on the water still offers epic opportunities for those who make it out before the storms.  With the next generations of aquatic insects being dropped off to start a new life cycle and America about to celebrate its 240th Birthday it should be an amazing 4th of July and an epic week to follow.
