Fishing Report Upper Madison River 7-29-2015
With the cool weather the Madison has new life and happy fish.
With the dose of winter like weather we had recently it has sparked new life into the Madison River. The cool weather and significant rain in the valley and fresh snow on the mountains has cooled the water temps considerably and made happy fish. While this might be a short lived event if we get some hot weather this might actually save our river this summer. Reports are happy fish and fisherman river wide. Both the bobber lobbers, streamer junkies, and dry fly guru's are doing well. On the drys the chubby with either a may fly like trailer or a caddis are doing it. On the nymph red is the color of the week and if you put a soft hackle on it all the better. Streamer guys are throwing all sorts of junk and staying bent but most have some form of articulation.
