Our fishing and hunting season has come to a close and the Holidays are straight in front of us. A seasonal calm has come to Ennis and the Madison Valley. We watch the next summers water pile up in snow during the arctic like short days of December. It is easy to reflect on the incredible amount of fun we had this year. That fun is in direct correlation to the connection we had with all of you. Our passion is to share Montana with others and to live with a direct connection to the outdoors. Our goal could not be accomplished without the continued trust from our guests.
It is easy in a time when so many are divided to focus on what we lack. Instead we are focused on all that we have been given. A successful business, cold clean water in the river, unbelievable country to live and work, great friends, guides and employees. We are especially blessed that so many find value in what we do. We are indeed blessed. We hope everyone feels as blessed as we do this Holiday Season.
We will be hosting a trip this coming summer to our old stomping grounds the South Fork of the Flathead River in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. This seven day adventure is probably the best fishing in the lower 48. We will ride horses into the river for two days and float for 5 days out. All the gear, guides, food and camp will be provided. The South Fork is also one of the few places where an angler can legally target Bull Trout. Bull Trout are apex predators and can grow to extreme size. The dry fly fishing is world class. We will be working with our good friend and fellow outfitter Joe Sowerby who has been running these trips for the last seven years. There are just two spots left in a group of 8 anglers.

Women in Fly Fishing
Many of you have seen the article in the New York Times about recruiting women into fly fishing and how women are the growth potential for this sport. Our partner Orvis has a unique program they started 50/50 On the Water to inspire women to try fly fishing with development of gear and adventures. Give each of these a look and a follow and let's all work to break down the barriers of entry into this great sport.

Snow Pack off to a good start!
While it is extremely early to predict water and snow pack for the spring we are off to a good start. We are currently sitting at 112% of normal in the Madison River Drainage. There is a bunch of winter left but this is a good start.
