Madison River Fishing Report
The Madison River has been fishing well this week. We have experienced some great floating opportunities from Varney bridge to Town. Midges and worms seem to be the staples for the fishes diet right now but Skwalla nymphs and Blue wing olive patterns are also starting to get some action.
The cold weather has started to break here in Ennis. The Madison river is flowing free though there was a little slush this morning by town. Most FAS remain open and accessible.
The Madison river remains ice free still and boat ramps are still accessible even after the snow we got the past couple of day. Fish have been holding in their typical winter lays concentrate your efforts in the slower deeper pools right now.
