Dear Tackle Shop Family & Friends,
In this unbelievable challenging time we wanted to reach out to those closest to us with a message of Faith, Hope and Fly Fishing. It is always our desire to make your life better through fly fishing and in times of need this is especially important.
Spring has arrived in Montana and the Madison Valley and with it new hope. The days are longer, there might be a hint of green grass if you look hard enough, and the river is fishing very well. I am certain life is going on in the natural world.
While it is hard to write a fishing report during a global pandemic when so many are suffering we have learned a few lessons with the COVID virus.
First, we are in this business for the people number one. Yes we do love fishing, but what we love more is teaching others, showing others our great state and sharing experiences with others. What we have learned is it was never about the fishing but the people. We use fishing to make people happy and in turn that makes us happy. The fishing is just the vehicle for helping others. Without the people the fishing is less important.
The second thing we learned is that in the past we have taken life way to seriously. Just a month ago we were king of the world or so we thought. Things were rolling, spring was on its way and we were off to another great year. Bam, how quick things change. Now our only thoughts are to keep the Tackle Shop Family and friends healthy. We all realize we should have taken the time to connect with those more deeply.
We are now faced with social distancing, travel restrictions and non-essential business closures which affect our store and most small businesses. All of these fundamentally oppose our mission to make people happy through fly fishing and connection. I believe that we will get past this. We must. I also have faith that when people come out of isolation their craving for connection to the natural world will be stronger than ever.
While many in the small business world are mired in the reality of the situation we choose to focus on the belief of hope, faith and fly fishing that has guided us for so long. Our desire is to be of service to our customers, our community and our friends. While many of you are stuck at home we will continue to inspire, educate and entertain with our social media. We ask our customers, friends and family members stay safe and continue to have faith. The trout are not going anywhere and will be here when this is all over. Please let us know how we may be of assistance during this trying time. As always let us know how we can help.
God Bless, Keep Calm & Fish On!
