The Madison River continues to impress and fish well day in and day out. The fish are still in the late winter early spring mode and are consuming brightly colored eggs and worms like it is going out of style. If you have been part of the egg madness the last few weeks you know what I mean. Tie on a egg pattern wait til the afternoon and just hit water. It has been some amazing fishing. The fish are in full on spawning mode right now and redds are river wide. If you see them please do not fish over redds or wade on them. That is our future let them do their thing. The egg fly madness will come to a close shortly. Keep the stone fly nymphs, worms and especially the soft hackle PT's handy. The Blue winged olives are starting and the post spawn fish will start looking for the mayfly nymphs. This also brings in some good dry fly fishing on the right days. The BWO's are just starting and some good dry fly fishing is on the horizon.
