Madison river fishing report 9-10-2017

Summer is almost over but the fishing on the Madison river isn’t. We are starting to see some bigger browns getting more active. The river as a whole has been fishing about the same through out the sections. The fish are still eating terrestrials on top but the bigger fish seem to be eating more subsurface presentations. Streamers and nymph have fooled some really nice fish into the net this week. The Varney to Ennis section is a great place to float right now. The water level is low enough that there are plenty of places to get out of the boat and wade. For the wade angler Valley Gardens will offer you some great access to some awesome wading, as will the three dollar bridge area. With the passing of Labor Day we are seeing less people on the river everyday and mid week can offer some less crowded fishing.
